“BrowserChooser” lets you change default browser on iOS to Google Chrome

One of the problems with a third-party browser on iOS is that you can’t change the default iOS browser, so you have to manually redirect to the third-party app if that’s what you prefer to use. However, if you are a jailbreaker, there is a tweak out that will allow you to change the default browser! This tweak comes in the wake of Google Chrome being released on iOS yesterday, and it’s near instant success, already taking the Top Free spot in the App Store. This tweak is exactly like the old “Browser Changer” tweak, except it now supports Google Chrome. Once installed, you just select Chrome by going to Settings > BrowserChooser > Chrome.

In order to get this awesome tweak, you must be jailbroken, the add Ryan Petrich’s repository by going to Cydia > Manage > Sources > Edit > Add > type in rpetri.ch/repo. Once it’s added, you can search for BrowserChooser, and no worries, it’s free. If you have not played with Google Chrome yet, be sure to check it out. You can look at our First Look and Gallery and also there you will find a link to the App Store page.

What do you think? Are you going to install this so you can use Chrome full-time? Is this good enough to jailbreak for? Let us know in the comments.

I jailbreaked my iphones and my ipad over the past years now and then, but never really had the need ... it was just about "being free", but even without jb, i could do everything i needed. but with the release of chrome, i urged to use it as my default web browser ... and yes ... it was worth it to jb again ...
