BookBook case for iPad gets slim redesign
Twelve South’s line of BookBook Apple accessories is very striking and different because instead of designing a case to highlight the futuristic tech within, Twelve South strives to make our devices look like antiques. As the name suggests, the BooBook cases make our iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks look like books. Leather-bound, vintage books to be exact. With a hand-distressed leather design, each individual case has a unique look that perfectly matches what you might find on an antique book. In fact, the case looks so great that there have even been reports of robbers passing up gadgets wrapped in the BookBooks, thinking them to be actual books and not high-priced electronics.
The BookBook for the second and third generation iPad was just treated to a refresh and is now 33 percent thinner than the previous version and weighs in at just about 12 ounces. Aside from the cool outside appearance, the case also features a built-in typing stand that allows you to view your iPad at different angles and duel zippers that provide both protection and easy access to the 30-pin dock connector.
With a $79.99 price tag, the case is definitely at the higher end of the spectrum, but if you’ve got the money to spare the new, thinner BookBook for iPad is definitely worth consideration. It’s available in brown, red, and black on Twelve South’s site.
