App Watch: Spotify app to rival Pandora with added radio feature
If you like music then it’s more than likely you’ve heard of Pandora, Spotify, and/or Slacker. These are all great music service applications, but some have features that others lack. When Spotify launched, in order to get any sort of music streaming on your device, you had to have one of the paid plans. While this was fine for those that wanted to pay, others didn’t have a need for the proprietary app at all. At least until now.
If you haven’t been able to decide on a music player, this might help you choose. Spotify is updating its iOS app to include a radio. The feature will be free and will work in a similar way to Pandora and Slacker. You can play music based on an artist and thumbs up or down what you’re hearing. I’m not 100% sure why this wasn’t on board from the get go, but I am glad that it is finally being included. Better late than never.
Personally, I love Spotify. Now note that I used to use Pandora daily. It was my go to service for all my music needs. Not sure why I switched, but I am really glad I did. I love being able to play whatever random song pops into my head that I have been missing. So it’s very cool that they’re going to be improving on an already great app. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled, you can expect the update today through the App Store.
