Untethered jailbreak coming for iPod (3rd gen) and iPhone 3GS, Confirmed by pod2g

Jailbreaking has been the way to tweak and add to your beloved iDevice for several years now. Every time an untethered version gets announced, people get very excited. Well it’s that time again.

Pod2G, the well known iOS hacker, has confirmed this morning that the upcoming 5.1.x untethered jailbreak will be compatible with more models. So if you’re still rockin’ a 3rd gen iPod or an iPhone 3GS, this is great news on the jailbreak front. I know several people personally that would like to have an untethered jailbreak on their previous model iOS device, now they have hope.

If you would like to see a list of all the devices that will be supported, you can click here. Seems like the release is not too far away. I’d say to be expecting the release of the untethered jailbreak before the end of May.

Are you guys excited about this? Anyone still rockin’ the 3rd gen iPod touch looking to jailbreak? Let us know down below in the comments.

i used redsnow to jailbreak my 3gs, i thought it was an tethered jailbreak.  but for some reason whenever i reboot i dont have to reconnect to the computer and use redsn0w to get it to work.  as soon as i turn it on it works just like its untetherd.  pretty weird to me
