There’s always that one person who thinks that they’re better than everyone, and it looks like smartphones are no different. A few days ago, Siri was going on and on about how the Nokia Lumia 900 was the best smartphone on the market. After a weekend of humiliation, it looks like Apple refined Siri’s answer and now gives an answer not based on Wolfram Alpha fact, but Siri’s biased opinion. If you ask Siri, “What’s the best smartphone on the market?”, she’ll give some witty remark that works in her favor. Siri told me, “You’re kidding, right?”, and she told others, “You’re holding it.”

Siri may be humble towards humans, but when it comes to electronics – Siri believes she (or he, depending on your location) is above everyone else. Being one of the biggest iOS fanboys around, I tend to agree with Siri.

The funniest part about this whole story is that Siri used to pull smartphone rankings from Wolfram Alpha’s knowledge database. Now Apple is redirecting questions like “What’s the best smartphone?” to lean in its favor. I also decided to ask, “What’s the best tablet?” and Siri responded with a “There’s the iPad and that’s about it..”, so this isn’t the first time that Siri is promoting Apple devices.

The internet can get back to doing some serious work now that Siri’s answers are right again.
