Rumor: iOS 6 to have a new silver look
Had enough leaks for today? No? Okay, well let me try to satisfy your needs further. You’ve probably already heard of the leaked back panels and the leaked Maps application, so how about a little more to get you over until we finally see iOS 6, hopefully at WWDC. BGR earlier today posted some images of what it is saying is the new Maps application for iOS 6 (picture below). One thing, though, that is almost more interesting than the new application itself, is it’s silver color scheme.
The current version of iOS, and all previous, have included a Maps application that followed the same “blue” color palette found throughout the rest of the operating system.
BGR is speculating that this change could indicate a change throughout the rest of the phone as well. At the beginning of this post is a side-by-side comparison of this year and last’s WWDC iOS application that Apple themselves put’s out every year. As is blatantly obvious, there is more silver. Everywhere. From the navigation bar at the top to the task bar at the bottom, everything has been remade in this silver color scheme. One thing to definitely take note of, is how this would unify the color schemes of the iPad and the iPhone’s/iPod touch’s iOS versions. The iPad has been using the silver color scheme since the 1st generation launched; maybe it was an omen of things to come.
What do you think? Do you like the idea of a new silver-fied iOS? Do you think Apple should just stick with the well established, or is it getting boring? Let us know in the comments below.
