iPhone is now pre-paid on Cricket Wireless
People everywhere have been wanting to get their hands on the iPhone. When Apple first came out with its name brand electronics, the products it produced were often seen as luxury for the wealthy. As time progressed, that idea began to change, especially as it became easier and more affordable to possess an iDevice. It seems that now it will be more affordable than ever.
We’re bringing you this story to let you know that Apple has partnered with mobile mogul, Cricket Wireless, to offer the iPhone 4 and 4S on pre-paid plans. This is a big step in the mobile industry because it allows the iPhone to be seen as a budget friendly device, when even last year that wasn’t the case. The one downside to this is that you do have to pay an unsubsidized rate for the device. An 8GB iPhone 4 is $399.99 and a 16GB iPhone 4S is $499.99, but you will get unlimited talk, text, and data for only $55 dollars a month.
Cricket had the following to say in its press release:
“Our customers want the best products available and we are excited to bring iPhone to our pre-paid consumers with an industry leading $55 per-month service plan…Launching iPhone is a major milestone for us and we are proud to offer iPhone customers attractive nationwide coverage, a robust 3G data network and a value-packed, no-contract plan.”
This is extremely exciting because more people will finally be able to get their hands on an iPhone, plus they won’t be tied to a contract. I remember when you would only get flip phones and basic messaging phones on pre-paid networks, so this definitely represents a milestone in the mobile industry.

At least they won't gave to buy an iPhone for $400-$800 and have to pay an additional $50-$100 to have it flashed to Cricket. I knew that once the iPhone started coming to the smaller companies that it would only be a matter of time for it to come to Cricket.
