Apple have moved a step closer towards selling its iPad 3 in China. It has emerged that on Monday, the Chinese government announced that a product identified as A1430 had been approved by regulators.
A1430 is the model of Apple’s third generation iPad. This revelation proves that despite its recent feud with Chinese company Proview, Apple still holds the backing of the Chinese government. Over the past two years Apple’s products have grown immensely popular in China, reflected in the parallel growth of the massive counterfeit market that has developed alongside.
Last year, Chinese company Proview claimed that they still owned the rights to the moniker “ipad” in China. That legal battle is still ongoing, but Monday’s announcement would seem to suggest that Apple’s latest tablet will go on sale in the country in the near future.
