When Angry Birds first came out it, I didn’t think it would become as popular as it did. I don’t think anyone would have been surprised if the excitement simply died down after a couple weeks. It definitely would not have been the first app to lose interest in the widespread app war. It certainly came as a huge shock when months came and went, and Angry Birds is still dominating the App Store charts.
According to The Moscow News, Rovio has gotten into the credit card business. When I say that I mean that the famous flying bird company is ordering the “fighting foul” to be plastered onto Russian credit cards. Only 100,000 cards are being produced right now, but I’m assuming that the continued production will be based off the initial success of the cards.
The Moscow News quoted the following on their site:
“For the bank this is quite an attractive segment, which we will be able to offer not only a card, but also other products such as loans and deposits”
I don’t know about you, but I kind of wish these cards find their way over to the US. I think I would actually use one. Plus, it would complete my collection of Angry Birds merchandise that I’ve collected. In all seriousness though, I’m sure there are plenty of people in the US that would use one of the credit cards.
What do you guys think? Am I alone in thinking I’d use one of these? Or do I have fellow geeks out there looking to expand there daily geek output?
