In this week’s edition of Jailbreak Basics, I’ll be walking you through the process of changing the carrier’s name on your device, i.e changing AT&T to your name or something of the sort.
For starters, you’re going to need to have SBSettings installed. If you do not have this installed, then head over to Cydia and search for SBSettings, then install it as you would any other Cydia application.
Once you have installed SBSettings, open it. You will see a screen much like the one pictured below. Scroll to the bottom of this screen and tap “System Options”.
Once System Options is opened, tap “Custom Carrier (MakeItMine)”. This will bring up the following window:
It is now time to input what you would like to change your carriers name to. I have made mine fairly simple: a pile of poop, to represent my thoughts on AT&T’s service in my location. But you can change it to whatever you choose. Once you have input the name, tap “Set Carrier” and close SBSettings, then you’re done!
Thanks for checking out this week’s edition of Jailbreak Basics! If there are any other topics you would like for us to cover, feel free to let me know in the comments below, or on Facebook. Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend.
