TiP Birthday Bonanza! Day 3 – WakeMate for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad

It’s Wednesday and we’ve quickly arrived at day 3 of our fabulous Birthday Bonanza. On day 1 we gave away 15 Piolo stands, day 2 we offered an iSkin Claro case for iPhone 4/4S. Today we’re offering a really cool “appcessory”. The WakeMate is a snazzy technological wrist band that tracks your sleep patterns and logs it all in a bespoke iOS app.

Using the app that goes alongside the fuzzy wrist band you can set an “alarm” to vibrate and wake you up at the time that suits your body best. The device cleverly tracks your sleep waves to help you discover what the optimum sleep time is for your mind/body. When you set your alarm you give the wrist band a 20 minute window, and it wakes you up at the best time during that window.

Once it’s collected some data over a few nights, you can login to track your sleep online and adjust the times you go to bed and get up to ensure that you start the day in the best possible frame of mind. The WakeMate usually costs $59 and is available from the WakeMate site. Since the accessory works as long as you have the iOS app, it’s compatible with any iOS device running iOS 3.0 or later. If you’re someone who’s concerned that you’re not sleeping right, or you’re just curious to see you sleeping patterns, this is a fantastic way to do either.
