That’s right folks, January 6th (that’s this Friday!) will see a special, one-off shopping event hit the Apple Store. Sadly however, only in South-east Asia. Apologies for raising your hopes if you don’t happen to live in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan or Thailand.
If you do however, and you’re looking to purchase any Apple products for the coming year, this is the place to be. Apple sales have never been dramatic in the past (so don’t expect to see half price Mac-books flying off the shelves) but the market for selling Apple products in the previously mentioned countries is huge, and Apple will almost definitely see an increase in sales on Friday.
Apple has had a torrid time in Asia over the past year, what with countless patent rows against Korean company Samsung and of course, countless fake Apple stores appearing across China. Hopefully, this is a good sign of things to come, an extension of an olive branch that might mark the beginning of Apple’s improved strategy to tackle Asia in 2012.
But do you think the sale will be successful? If you live in Asia, are you going to grab yourself something on Friday? Or do you live in the West, and want to see a similar event come to our shores in the future? Let us know what you think down below!
