Life of Jobs released as a comic book

Since Steve Jobs died a little over 3 months ago, we have seen a couple of interesting tributes to his life crop up. Perhaps most controversial, was the planned release of a Steve Jobs figurine, which has started to appear on Ebay in the last few weeks.

Comic Book company Bluewater Productions has this week released a 32 page comic book documenting the life of Jobs, beginning with his birth in 1955 and later adoption. It then follows his co-founding of Apple with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne in 1976 and the fortunes of the company, but since it was written before Jobs untimely death in 2011, it does not include the passing of Apple’s former CEO.

Demand for the comic arose after the success of a similar comic surrounding creator of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg

In a statement regarding its release writer CW Cooke said:

“Admire him or dislike him, Jobs’ vision and business acumen revolutionized the world,” “Between he and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, you would be hard pressed to find someone with greater influence over how we communicate, interact and do business over the last 30 years.”

The comic is due to be released on Wednesday, and will retail for $3.99. If you want one, I’d get it pre-ordered pretty quickly, as the Mark Zuckerberg comic sold out in one day. A similar product based on the life of Bill Gates is due to be released in March, and both should prove to be a pretty interesting read.

What do you think about this? A nice gesture to a great man? Or just another gimmick? Post up below!
