Apple to start Targeting larger range of customers with “mini stores”
At Target you can find a variety of Apple products. You can find speakers, iPads, iPods and iTunes gift cards among the shelves, but soon you might be able to find even more Apple products like a MacBook Air or Airport Extreme. According to AppleInsider, Apple may be considering opening mini-stores within certain Target stores similar to the Apple shops that you can find within Best Buy stores.
AppleInsider’s source familiar with Apple’s plans claims that the company will begin operating Apple-branded areas within 25 larger Target stores in areas that wouldn’t be able to support a standalone Apple Store. This is part of an effort to expand its reach to smaller metro areas.

They plan to start small, given that Target has 1,752 stores nationwide. Apple currently has 245 of its own in the US and over 600 mini-stores within Best Buy locations. It appears that the 25 is just a trial run to test if Target will prove profitable for them.
I think by having more locations in Target stores, where people already come to shop, Apple will be able to make sales that they may not have been able to before. What do you think? Would you be more likely to buy an Apple product from a Target? Or like me, do you just find something alluring about actual Apple Stores?
