iOS 5 untethered jailbreak demoed on video: release date unknown

The entire jailbreaking community has been waiting for a long time for its untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 5. Eager to rid themselves of the constant rebooting via Mac/PC, they just want to be able to switch their phones on and off when they please, without worrying about losing all functionality on their iPhones.

It’s been coming for a few days now as @pod2g on twitter updated us that he’d “found a bug that can untether iOS 5″. In the same message he informed is that he could not predict a release timeframe, but that he was doing his best to make it happen. Unsure of its legitimacy some users questioned the more well-known @p0sixninja who confirmed it was a genuine solution. In the video below, @pod2g shows off the jailbreak working on iOS 5.
