Shazam updated, now features LyricPlay

Shazam now displays your lyrics with LyricPlay!

Shazam, the wildly popular iOS application for identifying music has just received an update. In case you aren’t familiar with Shazam, the app couldn’t be simpler. All you have to do is open the app and hold your phone in the vicinity of a speaker playing music. The app will ‘listen’ to about 30 seconds of the song, analyze the data it gathered and let you know everything from the song name to the artist, as well as give you links to buy the song on iTunes, listen to it on YouTube and more.

Now it looks like one more feature can be added to that list – LyricPlay. Obviously, this has to do with the lyrics of a song. With LyricPlay, Shazam can now display the lyrics of any song you tag. What’s more, the lyrics will be displayed in full screen in time to the music being tagged. In other words, with LyricPlay you’re turning your iPhone into a makeshift karaoke machine.

Shazam is free in the App Store and, if you don’t already have it installed, I would definitely check it out. In my opinion, it’s one of those apps that every iOS user should have.

Is LyricPlay a part of Shazam or a separate app that works with it?
