The iPhone 4S has blown all kinds of records out of the water since its initial launch almost one month ago. Apple has shipped and sold millions of units with stock going out as fast as it’s coming in. Last Friday, November 4th, the device was finally made available for pre-order to consumers in Hong Kong. In stunning fashion, all pre-order units were sold out after just 10 minutes. Only U2 concert tickets sell out that fast, normally.
The official launch of the device will take place this Friday, November 11th. HK residents will now have to wait and get in line later this week if they want to get their hands on the new iPhone. Analyst, Brian White , said “we believe this rapid sell out will rest concerns surrounding the uptake of the iPhone 4S in the Greater China region that were driven by the limited language capability of Siri, which did not launch in Mandarin or Cantonese.”
Apple’s latest creation continues to surprise us with its popularity, we expected it to do well, but not this well. Surpassing even the iPhone 4 in its first weekend with 4 million units sold, it’s doing very well. I’m sure Apple will be announcing yet another “best ever” quarter for the portable device and the company as a whole in a couple of months time.
