Vodafone already slashing iPhone 4S prices
With iPhone 4S being offered on so many carriers now, service providers have to get competitive to reel you in. One tactic is to lower prices, but we don’t usually see that until after a phone has been around for a while. Well, it looks like Vodafone is trying something new and is reportedly cutting prices even before the iPhone 4S is released!
Prices for the new iDevice are as follows: the model with 16GB of storage, will now only cost you £239 (approx. $373) with a £26 (approx. $41) per month contract — which saves customers £120 (approx. $187) on the original pre-order price. The 32GB flavor now starts at £359 (approx. $560), with an £80 (approx. $125) saving, and the new 64GB version is priced at £449 (approx. $700), with a £70 (approx. $109) saving.
Why are they slashing the prices? The cuts are most likely due to the late tariff announcements from both O2 and Three (Two other U.K. carriers), and the increased demand for shorter 12-month and 18-month contracts. There is no word on whether or not other carriers will do the same, but the odds are they will offer some sort of deal. Right now at least, it seems like Vodafone is one of the best carriers deal-wise for the iPhone 4S in the U.K. If only carriers in the U.S. did something like this…
