iPhone 4S is official – release date: October 14th
The rumors can now quieten down for a little while. The next iPhone has been unveiled by Tim Cook and his crew, and it is the iPhone 4S. Featuring the same form factor as the iPhone 4 you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s the same phone. Inside it’s a little different. Apple, as usual, would have you believe it’s a breakthrough device, I’m a little disappointed because it isn’t.
The smartphone is powered by the A5 processor found in the iPad 2, which means much better performance and an enhanced GPU for excellent gaming capabilities. The 5MP camera has been swapped out for an 8MP snapper, but don’t be fooled by mediocre megapixels. The lens is superb. It will go up to f2.4 to allow a huge amount of light in, matching a lot of point-and-shoot cameras. It also features a full HD 1080p sensor for excellent video quality.
Since it’s a worldphone (GSM and CDMA) it’s the same device across all carriers. The device will be available in black and white on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. There are three different capacity models, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB costing $199, $299 and $399 respectively. Pre-orders go live on October the 7th the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia and Canada. It will be launched on October 14th.
How many of you are going to get one?

not 100% decided if I want the 4s yet... ive had the 4 since it was released, however the 4s just doesnt really have anything as "revolutionary" as the 4. Granted that the 4 had some features that werent exactly functional (antennagate) it was still revolutionary in design and function, where as the 4s adds a new chip, bigger camera and a voice activated gimmick to make it sound like a great phone, don't get me wrong it is a GREAT phone, the iphone that is, however i'm not sure if getting the 4s is worth tying myself to att for another 2 years or if i should wait for my contract to be up completely and go with sprint if they still do have the truly unlimited plans.
