With any new device it’s important we know – as consumers – if the companies manufacturing our goods are learning from previous mistakes. The iPhone 4 became the centre of attention at launch for some pretty negative reasons. “Antennagate” filled our headlines with fear of dropped calls and lost signal. Despite the initial “you’re holding it wrong response”, Apple eventually gave out free Bumpers to anyone who’d purchased the device in the first few months after release. (Truth be told, the problem was not as major as the media had painted it to be.) However, there was clearly an issue, and so, will this new antenna design and “dual-antenna” feature solve the problem? I decided to test it and find out.
