Yet more iPhone 5 cases leaked, all but confirm form factor redesign
Over the past few weeks there have been a number of third-party case leaks for the next generation iPhone. All have appeared to be the same. They all show the device to be thinner, wider and have the mute switch on the opposite side to the volume buttons. The latest set of cases is no different. These come courtesy of Apple Insider.
The case also shows a redesign of the volume keys. Personally, I really like the individual round buttons on the iPhone 4. These still look individual, but are long and thin, taking up more space on the side of the device. This is perhaps the reason for the relocated mute switch. Again, as we’re used to seeing by now, the iPhone 5 will allegedly have a curved edge, instead of having completely flat, right-angled corners. The back is still flat, and slightly tapered, if my eyes aren’t deceiving me.
The cases shown are available from Shenzhen L&Y Technology. With so many manufacturers creating these cases, it’s certainly a good sign that we should see a larger iPhone come October. If it’s packing the dual-core A5 and a 4″ Retina display along with these design changes, I’ll be a very happy customer. What about you?
