Skype for iPhone/iPad adds bluetooth support and anti-shake

For me, there’s always been a love/hate relationship with Skype for iOS. For a long time video calls were not available, even after the iPhone 4 launch. It also took considerable time to enable its use over 3G and not keeping it restricted to WiFi only. Both are features which now exist on the current version of the app.

Let’s say you wanted to chat to someone over Skype using a bluetooth headset. Until today that wasn’t possible either. Something – in my mind at least – that should have been available from day one. The new version of the application includes bluetooth headset support and anti-shake technology for videos. This means if you’re walking along showing your friend that’s caught your eye, the shakiness of the video will be reduced. Despite this being a great feature, it only works when using the rear camera. Check the video demonstration below:
