Take this with a pinch of salt (or two if you fancy). BGR reports that a top level AT&T source has heard from the carrier’s Vice President, that the iPhone 5 will be launching in the early part of October. The VP allegedly sent the following message to AT&T managers: “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly.”

Obviously this sounds a lot like “iPhone 5 is coming, so make sure you’re prepared!” Of course, there’s the possibility that this message never existed, and was fabricated. But, if it is genuine, there’s only one thing that causes this much focus on getting organized. Only one product can produce the expectancy to be very busy, and that’s a new iPhone.

This time frame certainly fits in with what we’ve been expecting so far, so we’ll go with this one, for now. Obviously nothing happens until Steve Jobs announces it on stage, but we can speculate for now.
