“iPhone 5 will be thinner and lighter” – WSJ
Wall Street Journal has apparently been in contact with some well-placed sources in Asia. The sources state that Apple’s partners are readying a production of thinner and lighter iPhones. If true, this would contradict the most commonly believed rumor that the iPhone 5 will be an iPhone “4S”. The companies used for manufacturing parts claim that the device will also feature Qualcomm chipset and an 8mp camera – two rumors we’ve heard a lot recently. According to the same report Apple is believed to be wanting 25 million of them sold by the end of the year. Jobs&Co clearly have high expectations.
It’s no secret that the iPhone 4 isn’t the lightest of devices. Compared to its nearest rival, the Galaxy S II, it feels like carrying a brick. However, there’s a huge difference in quality of materials. If Apple can build something as solid and well made as the iPhone 4 without using plastic, whilst making it lighter, I’ll be a happy bunny.
What are your thoughts on this? Does the iPhone need a redesign? Should it be thinner? Do you care more about the spec sheet than dimensions? Comment below, or catch me on twitter.

i actually like the iphone 4--the shape, size, weight are just right for me.  there's a reason it's heavier than other phones and that's because it's made of stronger materials than the others. Â
