Rosetta Stone app coming to iPad

Rosetta Stone, the wildly popular language education tool, is coming to the iPad. The company is reported to be announcing the TOTALe Companion HD app at an event in New York City on June 2. And while this is the company’s first iPad app, the iPhone/iPod Touch version, called TOTALe Companion, has been available for a while now.

This app teaches users any number of the available 31 languages in quite a unique way. Not only does the user get a slew of interactive lessons, but also available are online sessions with tutors native to the language in question.

Now, if the iPhone app is any reference point, the iPad counterpart will be free. However, in order to use the app, you’re going to have to purchase three months of Rosetta Stone service at $199. With the package, you not only get access to the TOTALe Companion app, but also the Rosetta Stone software, live online practice sessions, online community access, audio companion for your CD or MP3 player and customer success agents.

I’ll definitely be interested to see how this companion application is received by the tech community. I’d be willing to test out a 21st century way of learning Spanish, what about you?
