Dad makes a PLAYABLE Angry Birds cake [video]

Okay, look — isn’t all this Angry Birds mania just getting a little out of hand? Yes, it’s clearly a phenomenon that has taken over numerous app stores (and threatens to take over the big screen at some point as well), with themed cases, skins, Mattel playsets, plush toys, infographics and more, all dedicated to the little furious fowl. So with all this, do we really need to find yet another way to express our obsession with this game? (Yes, Cam Bunton — I’m looking at you!)

Our own TiP associate editor has pretty much admitted his addiction to Angry Birds on numerous occasions — and so it’s only natural to bear him (and his little kid) in mind with this next item.

I’ve got four words for you: Angry. Birds. Birthday. Cake.

Now, we thought Anya Richardson’s theme cake (below) for her 8-year-old was impressive (and it is), but…

…this next one “takes the cake.” (Sorry for the pun.) A very creative UK-based dad and amateur baker built an entire game scenario for his Angry Birds–obsessed son’s birthday. But this is no ordinary confection — little Ben actually got to play this!

What I love about this — aside from the boy’s reaction to it — is the fact that the baker extraordinaire was willing to spread the joy.
