Jailbreaking: Ultrasn0w unlockers lose GPS using iPad 06.15 baseband

Some of you who unlocked iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1Â with ultrasn0wÂ ï»¿may have noticed something weird â€” like problems with GPS. No, you’re not crazy: The iPhone Dev-Team noted this issue on its blog, but states that it’s not a universal bug. So some of you have it and some of you don’t.

ï»¿ï»¿The issue affects ï»¿iPhone 3G and 3GS unlockers using ultrasn0w 1.2 with the iPad basebandï»¿Â ï»¿06.15.00. Here’s what the Dev-Team has to say about it:

Unlockers have been reporting mixed results about GPS functionality at 06.15.00. Until we can track down what differentiates those who retain GPS vs. those who lose it, be conservative and assume youâ€™ll lose GPS at 06.15.00. As we work on finding the cause (and possibly a fix), please report your personal findings in our comments section. (Update: early indications are that while 06.15.00 is capable of GPS, it will require some further hacks. But please still be conservative and assume you will lose GPS at 06.15, in case the hacks donâ€™t work).

I've lost GPS unlocking IP3G to baseband 05.13.04 ï»¿"iPhone 3G and 3GS unlockers using ultrasn0w 1.2 with the iPad basebandï»¿Â ï»¿06.15.00" Â I experienced that too on another 3G.

jb 3g with redsn0w on 4.1 bb6.15 and 3gs with PwnageTool on 4.2.1 bb6.15 all no gps signal, and eating battery

I have same problem but Google Maps is working properly. Any other application like Navigon, TomTom or Ndrive has no workability with GPS. However, all these applications shows some activity like area determination but neither navigation nor normal GPS funcation working.

bonjour aprÃ¨s une long attente, j'ai dismlocke mon iphone 3GS IOS 4,1 avec ultrasnow 1.2 baseband 06,15,00 tous fonction bien seulement j'ai remarque que Mes GPS ne fonctionnes pas ( pas de signal GPS) tester sur Igo - Sygic - Tomtom. Par contre avec la connection WIFI Sygic Mobile Fonction parfaitement Bizard???

iPhone 3GS, bb 6.15 (unlock for other operators), GPS is NOT working(TomTom app cannot even find the GPS device) :(

iphone 3G on baseband 6.15 does not have a GPS signal for me either.

iPhone 3G with 06.15. JB'd 4.2.1 with redsn0w and lost my GPS. It will give me a general area but won't pinpoint.

Dont upgrade the baseband just wait until new unlock for 05.14, 100% you will losse your gps happen to me

3GS 4.1 jailbroke with pwnagetool BB 06.15 - GPS does not work- this really sucks for me i use GPS everyday and had to buy a TomTom

No GPS is working. Turn off wifi, 3g, data and turn on Location Services then open Maps. You'll find it doesn't work.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G with the 6.15 baseband update. GPS works properly for me, no worries.

GPS is NOT working on any 3g/s after the update, despite what the blog says. Don't update, you will definetly lose GPS.

I have a 3GS iPhone 4.1 that was locked so I upgraded to 6.15 and unlock. At first when I visited Maps, the GPS wasn't working. Recently it appeared but wasn't pulsating. Today I visited Google Maps and the GPS showed the phone temporarily in a different location and it's still pulsating.
