PocketNow.com took the LG Panther, the only Windows Phone 7 device developed so far, and pitted its web browser against the likes of iOS (via the iPhone 4) and Android’s Froyo (via the Nexus One).
So how did it do? Well, the Windows handset actually bested the other two phones in completing a webpage load its first time out (though the Nexus One started bringing up text first). But in subsequent tries, it loaded last. But it’s more like a photo finish, with the difference between all these phones being pretty small. (You can check it out for yourself in the video below.)
In case it’s not obvious, I’m not a Windows person via any platform, desktop or mobile. But I have to say, WinPho 7 doesn’t look like your grandma’s operating system. The fact that it could more or less hold its own against these giants — and with pre-release hardware and software, at that — well, that could bode pretty well for the handset.
Any iPhone hold-outs out there considering WinPho 7? Could you see it pairing well with your iPod Touch or iPad? Or is the mere thought of a Windows variant enough to make you run into the streets, screaming? Share your thoughts below.
