Rumor: New iPod Touch could be unveiled next week

With recent rumors surrounding a front-facing camera on the next iPod Touch, it’s pretty exciting to hear that we could all get a glimpse of it as early as next week. A “reliable source” told MacMagazine that the event will be around the 16th-17th of August. The same article predicts the front-facing camera (FaceTime on an iPod? Awesome!) will be joined by a rear camera with LED flash, and a gyroscope motion sensor.

Traditionally Apple holds its media player events in September, so, it will be very interesting to see if the bosses have decided to mix things up a bit. However, I wouldn’t pin too many hopes on it, as Apple is pretty rigid with its annual release dates. Remember, iPhone has had a June unveil date for the past four years, despite rumors suggesting it would change.
