Over on TrickArtt, Ricky posted pictures of an art project that gives modern technology an old school twist: He’s turned an iPhone into a television! But, that’s not even the cool part. It is made from paper and a magnifying glass he got from eBay. The iPhone slides into the slot as shown, offering a magnified view.

It’s refreshing to see an accessory that does not just protect it. This would be so convenient if you just want to watch movies, while keeping your hands free for say… knitting. (Just kidding — I don’t knit! But I do eat, and it would be cool to watch my favorite Family Guy episode on the Hulu app while muching on a sandwich.) The only limitation is that the screen size keeps you from sitting back too far. But I still think it’s interesting what you can do with some simple materials..
