iPhone user breaks speed texting record

Here’s how the story goes: A woman off the street walked into the Samsung roadshow and used Swype on a Galaxy S smartphone to beat the world record for the fastest text message. In 25.94 seconds, the woman inputted “the razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.”

But to one iPhone owner, this was small potatoes. The iOS user took the same phrase and taped himself beating the record using the stock keyboard on his Apple smartphone. YouTube user Gumballtech managed the same feat in under 22 seconds, and without the benefit of Swype. Sadly, I don’t think this is admissible as evidence of a recordbreaker. But even though most users would not be able to keep up with him, it does serve as a testament to the speed one can reach on mobile phones.
