iPhone 4 still sold out – It’s not over yet!

The iPhone 4 was released on the 24th of June, making it a long 7 weeks since release. Remember all the trouble there was getting your hands on one when it was released? Well, it should all be over by now, right? Wrong. An analyst was sent this week by AppleInsider to 30 different retail stores, finding only 16 of them had it in stock, while most other stores said that they were receiving daily shipments to meet demand.
.
While this is much better than zero out of 20 stores having stock (as it was, prior to July 10th), it still means that almost half the stores you walk into still won’t be able to help you.
.
.
This really shows clearly how much of an impact on sales the antenna issue actually had, as the iPhone 4 has been the fastest-selling Apple product, selling a whopping 1.7 million devices in just the first 3 days! Gene Munster (analyst for Piper Jaffray) has said that in September, he believes Apple will have sold 11 million units worldwide.
.
So what’s your take on this? Have you been waiting until the hype dies down a bit before you get your shiny new iPhone? Have you found that stores near you still don’t have Apple’s shiny new device in stock? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
