Email-based FaceTime found in next iOS software!
Remember that rumor about future FaceTime functionality working via email addresses (presumably so iPod Touches and iPads, which don’t have phone numbers, can get in on the vid chat action)? Well, it looks like this one is panning out.
The third and latest beta (or pre-release) version of iOS 4.1 — which is basically the next big software upgrade that will be available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices later on — has an interesting new interface. The Contacts application now offers users a choice of connecting a FaceTime chat via phone number or email address.
The mere fact that this is in there is pretty revealing and lends credence to the rumors that iPod Touches and iPads will be getting those much-desired cameras — at least a front-facing one. (After all, you can’t do video chat without a cam, right?)
Do you own either or both of these devices? Would an addition of a camera and video chat capabilities inspire you to snag the new models when they come out? Let us know below!

i have the iphone 4, but none of my friends do, so i don't have anyone to facetime with :( so adding a camera to the ipad and ipod touch (and hopefully facetime)would be great because they're cheaper, and more available!
