Why Apple is struggling to release white iPhone 4
Apple finally announced last week that white iPhone 4′s would start hitting the shelves at the end of this month. However, these will be in “limited” numbers. There always seems to be a downside to every positive iPhone story these days doesn’t there? Every silver lining has a cloud.
An explanation for this has come about recently. According to Apple Insider, it’s because the machine that makes the glass panels for the device can’t make them quick enough. This report states that the Chinese company in charge of making them is struggling to get the right balance between paint thickness and opacity. Also, another source has stated that the machines over at Lens Technologies, (the Chinese factory), can only cut three glass panels per hour.
Are you one of the lucky few waiting for a white iPhone? If so, I’d be tempted to get in a queue early to get it. Otherwise you may find yourself without your device until another few weeks after you wanted it.
