One business given free Bumpers for antenna let-down

Last week we found a story explaining Apple’s general stance on appeasing grumbling iPhone 4 customers. The script in the call centers included lines like “it’s your fault the signal is poor, hold it right!”, and “NO, you may absolutely not have a free Bumper.” These are paraphrased slightly, but, it’s pretty much what the line is if you do get in touch regarding dropped calls.

Back on the 23rd of June, many people started receiving their iPhones early, one of these people was a small business owner in New York. The unnamed man, let’s call him Jack, (for funzies), had ordered 5 of the amazing fantagmagastic Apple handsets. Almost immediately he noticed an issue when he held it in his left hand. It’s important to note, the area he works is normally a 5 bar area. With each of his previous generation iPhones he’d had full strength signal. As soon as he touched the new device on the bottom left hand corner, calls were dropped. After checking with the rest of his staff, they noticed it was a widespread issue. They contacted Cupertino who told them to take it to their local Apple retail store to verify, which they did, and then apologized and sent him 5 free Bumpers.

It’s a shame that since that day, Jobs and his crew up in Silicone Valley no longer are this helpful. But, looking on the bright side, at least 5 customers were given the high standard of service we all expect.
