More delays: White iPhone 4 not out until “later this year”

Thanks to one of our keen-eyed readers, we’ve now been alerted to the fact that White iPhone 4′s have suffered a further setback. Those of you who were eagerly expecting to get your desired handset in the next couple of weeks will be disappointed, disgusted or even devastated to hear that Apple has announced it’s still having manufacturing issues. The device will not be released until “later this year” according to a statement made by the Cupertino company.

“White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”

.So there you have it. I’m not sure exactly what “later this year” means. But, I doubt very much that the phone will be out this summer. I reckon you’ll be waiting until fall, which sucks, a lot. How many of you will now go and get it over with and purchase a black model? Or, will you scrap the iPhone 4 idea all together and buy a Droid X/Evo 4G?
