Earlier this month Firefox home was announced, and so the buzz began for all those fans. Today, your patience has been rewarded with its release in iTunes.

Those who are familiar with Firefox will be able to sync with their computers browser including your bookmarks, history and passwords. This will allow users to continue searching on their iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch where they left off at home. Though it may not be an actual browser like Safari or Internet Explorer, you will be able to take advantage of continuing searches where you left off and have access to all of your bar data and password information.

If you plan to use this app, users will need to set up a Firefox Sync account and can do so for free.

Firefox home is free to download.

No, Firefox home is not a browser and cannot replace mobile Safari on your phone. But it might make desktop Safari users consider defecting to Firefox and similar Mozilla desktop browsers, especially if you can continue a browsing session on your phone, no?
