I live in Sweden, and here we've had the possibility to make video conference calls between cell phones for the last decade, and since at least a few years back we've had the possibility to use the cell phones with the national VRS service. So video calls in itself is nothing new or revolutionary for us deaf and hard of hearing swedes. But the nice thing about the iPhone, as I see it, is the increase in video quality, and the possibility to either use the iPhone OR a Macintosh computer (for when you want a larger picture which always is a plus when signing och reading lips). I can definitly see the iPad 2, with its cameras, becoming popular amongst the signing population.

As sign languages generally require two hands to be useful, will Apple be releasing an iTripod for deaf users to lug around everywhere they go? Or perhaps someone will make an app for levitating the phone?
