iPhone 4 Drop Test Cracks Glass [Update]

The iPhone 4 has been available only for a few hours now and already the screen has been broken. You know, the screen made of alluminosilicate glass? Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer, and 30 times harder than plastic?

The guys over at ifixyouri.com were curious to see how durable this amazing new screen really was, at after 4 drops in a drop test the screen finally shattered. Hit the link to open the full YouTube vid. (Our site isn’t liking embedding right this second…)

.So there you have it. The screen is pretty durable, but drop it four times onto concrete from a distance and you may need to look into a new screen. The guys over at ifixyouri.com will repair the screen on your iPhone 4 for $99.99 should this happen to you, but it will take quite a bit of mis-treatment for this to happen.
