Freebie Friday bonus: Don’t forget Mom!

In continuation of Freebie Friday, we have a great giveaway for our readers!

So what do we have in store? How about a Ceiva frame with a one years subscription that you can give to mom. This digital frame will allow you to share those tender moments with mom or maybe even the occasional joke. She can get her local weather forecast or news and even a personalized card from you!

Why does this frame make for a great gift? This frame allows for quick, easy and convenient ways to share pictures with loved ones. How easy is it? Well you can send a picture message, email or even use the Ceiva app on your iPhone. Another benefit to this frame, you can also send custom greeting cards and set up for weather, news or history facts.

Lets give you the nitty gritty on how this frame and app work. One of the best aspects of this frame is the simplicity to send pictures from your cell phone, email and the iPhone application. I would have to say that I prefer the iPhone app. I can take a picture, connect to the Ceiva app, and send it to the frame. The frame notifies you when you have a new picture ready to be added to your collection. The name inscribed on the frame lights up in blue. You grab the remote that comes with the frame, hit menu and select connect. 2 minutes later, your pictures are on the frame.

Through the settings, you will be able to control the transitions from fade to black, dissolve and cut. You will be able to control which pictures are on display and you have a variety of ways to connect your frame to receive pictures from loved ones. You can use an Ethernet cable, wireless modem or an old fashioned phone line.

Another bonus to this frame is the additional memory card slot. This allows you to transfer your images right on to the card and run to your local photo print shop to get a full portrait for the fire place. You will also be able to store the images online via the Ceiva website, which allows for unlimited photo storage with your paid subscription.

One of the very few issues that I found with this frame was the pixelation of pictures taken from my iPhone. When I look at the images on the frame they almost look grainy. But with a few adjustments in the settings, most of this was fixed. You can crop the image to fit the screen, stretch among a few other options.

The biggest complaint has been with the price of the frame. Me personally, I think the price is worth it. You can have an unlimited storage space online for all your images. The days of having your pictures spread out on 3 different computers and however many digital cameras you may have are over. Plus you can have news and weather sent straight to your frame. How cool is that? You wake up to your coffee pot in the morning and look at the frame to see how you should dress for the day.

Now that you know why you should have one, let me give you the details on how you can win a frame for yourself or maybe for your mom. We want to hear your moms biggest cellphone faux pas. Did she call you at the wrong moment? Maybe she’s learning how to text and hasn’t realized what some of the short hand messages really mean…LOL! Whatever the story may be, share with us in the comments below and we will pick a winner Monday morning. You will be contacted by email and the frame will be sent to your address, or maybe moms house. Good luck everybody!

Thanks for that Adriana, and yes Skyler i am very happy for the winner, just disapointed as i said, did not mean to come off as a sore loser.

Hey, Jay. I'm sorry if you're disappointed. The contest wasn't intended to be limited to the goofs committed by Mom only — simply an assortment of Mom-related cell phone goofs. But I can see how it could be taken that way, so we hear what you're saying. We do read these comments and take in all the feedback, good and bad. And we'll keep honing these contests to be better and more fun as we learn the ropes with these things! And there WILL be future giveaways, large and small, so there will be other opportunities to win things. In the mean time, thanks for your feedback. It helps us get better at what we're doing.

OhKay Agreed Butt You Dont Have To Say Itt. You Should Be Happy For The Winner.

Sorry, just being honest, not sore, many people have been denied freebies because their stories did not relate to what was asked for, frankly your story, mine, and amys were the only ones showing a MOM Faux Pas, but once they say sex in the story, it didn't matter what the story was about, so i am not sore, dissapointed, yes, many other storys were on target and deserved to win over the winning one, just plain truth.

Omg Jay Your Being A Sore Loser.!

Thanks, I knew the actual winner would have nothing to do with an actual MOM faux pas!, wish you guys would have been a bit more truthful about what you were looking for.

Dear readers, First we want to apologize to the readers as we needed to get some clarification for shipping purposes for the digital frame. It was a bit of a tough choice for us but we were able to choose a winner for the CEIVA Pro 80 with a one-year PicturePlan and Dazzle Crystal kit which is valued at $240.00! Thank you to everyone who entered this contest and without further ado your winner is...... Anthony! Congratulations and we hope that you enjoy your digital frame!

Jay, dude, relax. There is no rush, they'll get to it whenever they have time. Just be patient, they had to contact the vendor and that could take a while to get a reply. The more you post, the more annoyed they are just going to be. Sit back, relax, and let the news happen when it happens. Cheers.

Come on, who's the lucky winner??, and where can I get one for my mama?!, please let us know, I will only check back every hour instead of every thirty minutes,,,

can't wait to hear the story that won.

Hey, Jay. Thanks for writing in. Turns out, the selected winner has an address that may not qualify him. We're checking with the vendor to find out if they can ship there. As soon as we hear back, we'll announce it on the site. Sorry for the delay, but we just want to make sure we don't get someone's hopes up for no reason! Thanks for your patience!

So Bob, did you pick a winner? Just curious.

Just wanted to add, if it's sex and or excitement that do the trick, I was probley thinking about it at some time while leaving my story, ( I really want one of these for my mama, sorry!)

I had just traveled 4 hours to stay with my mom while she recovered from joint replacement surgery. Mom has LOTS of friends who call her house OFTEN. I am normally a quiet person and don't spend much time on the phone, much preferring a quiet house. I had just unpacked, tidied up for mom's arrival from rehab, and of course, her phone rings. So, I made a smart alec remark saying "And now it starts" and then I picked up the phone. It was my mom, and she says "I heard that!" She was calling to tell me that my cell phone pocket dialed her and to hang it up! She had heard my comment from the phone in my pocket.

OhKay So One Time When My Mom First Started Texting , She Texted Me And Told Me This Joke (I Dont Remember What It Was) And I Replied To Her "Lol" And She Was Like "I Love You Too But Did You Get The Text About My Joke.?" And I Replied "Yes And I Said Lol." and She Replied "Butt Dont You Have Any Comments About My Joke.??" And I Replied "I Thought It Was Funny Because I Said Lol." And She Replied "Lol Means Lots Of Love Doesnt It.??" And I Replied "....No It Means Laugh Out Loud." And She Replied "Oh....Well You Better Not Be Laughing Out Loud Cause Last Time I Checked You Were At The Library Where Your Supposed To Be Quiet.!" And My Last Text Said "......NeverMind." Haha And To This Day , She Still Repeats This Story To My Father.!

Lmfao @Anthony that would be so embarassing.

Lol at the entry above me... that would have been embarassing once my mum received a call on her mobile and we were all driving in the car. Anyways she answered it and must have pressed the hang up button by mistake, because when she started talking into the receiver nobody replied. She thought that the person calling must have been playing a practical joke, so she went along with it and just rambled on for about 5 minutes. When there was still no reply, she became irritated and started yelling into the phone... still no answer. Finally, she became so frustrated that she ended up throwing the phone out the car window. Lucky it wasn't an iPhone, cause we never retrieved it. Stupid mum, but I forgive her because it was great comedy and so i would love this photo frame to gift her. ;)

This is pretty embarrassing, and it's a little rated R, so I'm going to keep out as much information from the rated R section, and let you figure out what happened. Okay so first off, I would like to say that my mom does not text, and this was the FIRST text I have ever recieved from her. Okay, so I was at my girlfriends house and things started to heat up in her bedroom. As we were doing it my phone started to ring, and without looking I moved it from the bed to the night table so it wouldn't fall off the bed. The phone stopped ringing as soon as I placed it on the night table, so I assumed they hung up. (I wasn't going to answer the call at the time anyways) So an hour or so later after we went back downstairs I decided to check my phone to see who called. Strangely enough, I didn't have a missed call. I did have a text message from my mom though. And it read "I called to see if you and Amie wanted to come watch Avatar but I can hear that you two are very busy at the moment. ;)" ... Apparently when I moved my iPhone to the night table I "slide to answer" the phone and she heard everything. This was the most embarrassing moment of my life, not only did she hear us, but when I checked the call, it said the call lasted 25 minutes. A very awkward conversation occurred the next day!

I won a skin, but would gladly give that up for somthing for my mom, she's much more important than me, the biggest faux pas, well I was frantically texting her to let her know of a recent birth in the family, and apparently everytime her phone would chime for the text, she was frantically trying to answer the phone, it must have chimed about 15 times, she kept picking it up, saying hello, then telling my stepfather, "I guess someone keeps calling the wrong number, dammit!!" I finally did call, she got the news, and now she knows all about texting!!!
