First, an announcement: The winner of TheTalkyOne contest revealed!
Last week, we announced a contest for TheTalkyOne bluetooth speakerphone giveaway. We asked people to submit their favorite viral vid or prank caught on camera. After much deliberation, we narrowed it down to two final contestants: JK’s “And now you know” PSA video and Daniels’ iFart video. In the end, 378 TiP readers voted, and the winner is…
JK’s “And now you know” video! In case you missed it, here it is again:
Congrats, JK!

Today’s Freebie: Speck iPhone cases
Speck is one of my favorite brands of cases. Sure, it has been around for what seems like forever in the iPhone accessories world, but its experience shows — especially in the quality of its products! A lot of thought goes into these items, from the “bumpers” on the front sides (so you don’t scratch your display when setting the device down) to the attention to detail in innovating new products.
The company’s not satisfied by cranking out the same old tired-looking items that everyone else has. The designs are unique, well thought-out and often eye-catching, and the protection they offer is just fantastic. No lie — I’ve dropped my phone several times this week alone. (I go through clumsy phases.) But the Speck case I’ve been using has protected this device — and in style, to boot!
Now five of you lucky winners are getting a Speck case of your own. These are available for the iPhone 3G and 3GS.

Candy Shell (retail: $34.95)
Rubberized interior, covered in a durable plastic shell. What do you get with that? The shock absorption of a soft case, with the ruggedness of a hard case. And see that little asterisk on the back? I think that’s my favorite part. That, and the juicy colors this case comes in. The one we have is a sporty duo-tone green, as pictured above.
.
Artsprojekt (retail: $39.95)
Speck has released a new, limited edition collection of its Fitted cases. This line of cases offers unique designs created by artists, rendered in fabric fused over a hard shell case. These designs are both classic and funky at the same time.
“Waves” is by Montreal-based artist Eve Duhamel
.
“Campsite,” also by Duhamel
.
“Bosque” was designed by Buenos Aires designer Yo Amo La Leche
.
See-Thru Satin (retail: $29.95)
I’ll be honest — I kind of didn’t “get” this case at first. Then I opened the package. O. M. G.! This is the epitome of soft, silky and completely addictive to the touch! I literally can’t stop touching my phone! But the See-Thru Satin really needs to be felt to be understood. For the tactile-oriented, this is a must-have. It’s also essential for quality freaks, since it’s not really a soft case alone: It’s soft on the outside and hard on the inside. (Hmmm, sounds like some of my exes — Sorry! I digress.) Not only does it offer excellent protection, but seriously — whoever gets this won’t be sorry. It is magic for your fingers.

Here’s how to win:
When it comes to iPhone accessories and apps, creativity is key. Sure, we iPhone users have a ridiculous mountain of apps in our App Store — but isn’t there one or two that you’re missing?
I was inspired by this post, by our own Matt Stratton, as well as the following images spotted online:
Holy smokes, I could really use a cheese grating app.
So let me ask you — Is there some fantasy app you only WISH you could have? Describe it in text or, for brownie points, link to an image/vid. (Keep it clean, peoples, but) Feel free to get creative. Post in the comments below or email us at the TiP Us link above, at the top of the page!
The editors will parse through the entries, and open it up for reader voting.
Deadline is Tuesday, June 1 at 10 am EST! Good luck!
UPDATE: A reader question came in: “Can we comment multiple times, or just once?” Great question! Only one reader entry can make it into the final, but you can enter as many times as you want to increase your chances of making it in. (Thanks for the question, Diego!) Any other questions? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE2: Submissions are now closed. (But feel free to add to the conversation, if you have one you’ve been dying to get off your chest.) We’ll go through the entries that came in by the deadline, select our favorites, and the finalists will be included in a separate post on the main site for voting. Thanks everyone, and good luck!
